Telecommunications Truskmore Mountain
Structural Waterproofing of telecommunications D.T.T.N. at Truskmore Relay Station on Truskmore Mountain at 2100 feet above sea level.
This particular contract was quite challenging as water ingress was through parts of the structure and the flat roofs. Considerable demolition and removals were required to prepare for waterproofing. Safety was also an important part of works at this site. Sudden storms from the Atlantic Ocean were also a problem. The time frame for completed works was limited to a 12 week summer period.
The exposed mountain site. Considerable demolition required prior to reroofing.
After waterproofing the structure and roof with Varnamo sheet a layer of Geodrain was laid with concrete paving and insulation over. The rain water is drained to the outlets in the Geodrain sheet thus avoiding build-up of water on the surface of the roof or a rush of water to the outlets.
Installation of main roof membrane & laying of Geo-drain sheet.
The parapet downstands and sections of the main walls were lined with Delta PT sheets and rendered over thus protecting the walls from wind-blown water and rain.
The completed project at RTE Truskmore Mountain can be sean to the left.
